Spring 2010 Market Outlook
2009 was a tale of two markets. From the depths of a market bottom prices came roaring back and have even achieved new peaks in some areas. There are still some housing types and areas that haven’t fully recovered but most reports are favorable for 2010. Low interest rates seem to be the dominant force in this rally so pay close attention to Bank of Canada moves and also fixed rate moves by the Big Banks. (Fixed rates can creep up without BOC moves and will probably do so soon) We see higher interest rates as the likely force to balance the market and put some pressure on rising prices. The current market presents many opportunities for discerning buyers and sellers alike.
